On February 28, our U9 players will be led by Taylor Redmond for a special power skating session made possible through our team fundraising efforts. Taylor grew up in a power skating family—his dad, Blaine Redmond, has been running Edges on Ice and teaching power skating on Vancouver Island for over 30 years. Before joining the RCMP, Taylor worked alongside his dad and went on to play junior hockey in leagues including the VIJHL, MJHL, and NOJHL. This high-energy session will focus on developing stronger strides, quicker acceleration, and better edge control, helping players build balance, speed, and confidence on the ice. It is fully covered by team fundraising, so there is no cost to families—an excellent opportunity for your player to gain game-ready skating skills, so please encourage them to attend.
